Vicki and Chris are soulmates. It’s as simple as that. We knew it the very second we met them (their engagement session is still one of our favorites!), and their wedding was even further proof. And oh man, that first look . . . So many happy tears! It was absolutely beautiful. After, we visited their favorite spots in Logan Square, Webster’s Wine Bar and Emporium Arcade Bar, before heading over to Revolution Brewing. After their romantic ceremony, along with their friends and family, these two danced the night away! Vicki even changed out of her beautiful blush wedding dress and into a stunning BHLDN jumpsuit! It was the perfect way to celebrate one of hottest days in June!

Eliza and Justin’s wedding was filled with so much love, laughter, and an out of this world ceremony!! Pun totally intended, but seriously, Eliza and Justin’s wedding at Adler Planetarium was breathtaking. Even the heat advisory couldn’t stop this incredible duo from holding each other close as we explored some of Chicago’s most iconic sites, including Lurie Garden and The Art Institute of Chicago. From their beautiful first look to playing billiards with the wedding party and a gorgeous cake decorated by Eliza’s coworkers, these two celebrated and danced the night away under the stars.

August left our hearts full with all the beautiful weddings, engagement sessions, and family sessions we captured. From an intimate 60-person brunch wedding in Chicago to a family session in northern Illinois, we celebrated summer with some of most incredibly genuine and sincerest people we’ve had the pleasure of getting to know. We also discovered that Ed is the new uncooperative ring bearer and flower girl whisperer – give us any toddler who refuses to get their photo taken and Ed can change their minds (well for the most part)! We even shot our very first Indian ceremony at the Chicago History Museum, and it was simply stunning. We still can’t believe we get to share in the happiest moments of people’s lives!

We had our monthly Chicago wedding photographers brunch at Jam ‘n Honey, and the turnout was the largest yet!! While it was great catching up with everyone, the best part of brunch had to be the large jars of Nutella on every table. LOL!! Speaking of food, August also had a Portillo’s photo stop during a wedding, Taco Tuesday at Big Star, and closing down Violet hour with friends. And we celebrated a couple birthdays! We had a surprise party for our friend (she had no idea!!), and then on another friend’s birthday we celebrated by escaping a zombie horde… Seriously, if you’ve never experienced an Escape Room, get a few people together and do it. It was so much fun!!

We are still slowing moving in to our new place. The cats are getting more comfortable with the change, but bicker from time to time. We may or may not still be living out of boxes… Haha!! We promise that we will be fully moved in by the end of wedding season, and we will definitely post photos when things settle down. We can’t believe how quickly this year is flying by. Our September is jam packed with so many events – can’t wait to tell you guys all about it!

And here’s a little behind the scenes of what happens when you edit 8 hours straight (Caution: weird and LOUD)…

This quirky Chicago wedding included a romantic ceremony next to Lake Michigan, running to catch the CTA, flying bouquets, and getting kicked out of Whole Foods. It was seriously awesome!! Ed had so much fun capturing Melodie and Eric as they explored Chicago, and even had fun running from security guards at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. Every single photo just radiated with their fun personalities – it was so difficult to pick our favorites! We are seriously so lucky to have the opportunity to shoot such cool couples. Melodie and Eric were definitely not an exception. They are two of the most laid back and fun people we’ve ever met. We’d sit with them in a grocery store aisle, munching on chips any day!

We can’t stop smiling just thinking about Nicole and Ryan’s wedding at CD & ME! Inspired by the Art Deco style, their day was filled with gorgeous gold sequins, handmade decor, and a swoon-worthy birdcage veil. We adored how Nicole and Ryan were able to incorporate their love of the 1920s throughout their wedding! From the cutest blindfolded first look and a fun choreographed first dance to sneaking out for a few intimate sunset portraits, we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the end of July! These two are downright adorable and absolutely meant to be together.
