We first met Sheila and Matt early last year. They flew in from New York to have their engagement session at Northerly Island, and we instantly fell in love with their personalities. They are so genuine and incredibly in love. And in early May, these college sweethearts tied the knot where it all began – The University of Chicago.
Sheila and Matt’s wedding was absolute perfection. Their first look took place at the bridge where Matt proposed. It was such a heartfelt moment, filled with happy tears and so much laughter. From there, we explored the gorgeous architecture throughout the UC campus, including their house table in the cafeteria. As we visited the places that started their love story, we learned more and more about these two and their relationship. It’s safe to say that Sheila and Matt have an unbreakable bond. Their love is inspiring and beautiful. We ended our adventure in front of their ceremony venue, The Quadrangle Club, and Sheila surprised Matt with an elephant!! Well, actually, an elephant decal on their car. Matt wanted to ride into the ceremony on an elephant, as tradition in some Indian weddings, and this was the best alternative. Matt’s reaction was priceless!
For the ceremony, Sheila and her family changed into beautiful, colorful saris. The ceremony was utterly romantic, and we adored how both their cultures were addressed, including a unity candle, the Seven Blessings, and a mangalsutra (a necklace placed on Sheila by Matt which is considered a sacred thread of love and goodwill). After the ceremony, these two danced the night away with their friends and family. What a perfect day.
Here are some of our favorites from Sheila and Matt’s Quadrangle Club at the University of Chicago Wedding!
From Sheila & Matt: “Ed and Aileen were the photographers for our wedding a few weeks ago. Once again, they were a pleasure to work with. They were pros as running our posed extended family pictures during cocktail hour. None of our pictures look posed or fake, and I love that they provide a quick sneak peak of some photos a day after the wedding. Ed and Aileen are truly amazing. I highly recommend them as photographers.”
