If there’s one thing you should know about us, it’s that we absolutely adore each other’s sense of adventure. We split our time between cuddling on the couch, binge watching re-runs of our favorite TV shows, and discovering new places. So for our one year anniversary, it was only fitting that we went exploring. Two days before our anniversary, we packed our bags, stayed up all night editing, and left for the airport right at sunrise. And after standing in line at the SLOWEST Starbucks in the world (located in O’hare), we made our way to Maui.
Maui was incredible. We arrived Saturday afternoon and proceeded to go straight to our hotel, the Fairmont Kea Lani Maui. And for the first time in a long time, we went exploring without our phones or cameras. On that day, we swam in the ocean and watched the sunset while lying next to each other on the beach. The colors of the sky and sounds of the waves crashing into the beach are something we will treasure forever. It was a perfect evening.
Part One documents our first three days, which consisted of endless mimosas, piña coladas, some of the best seafood ever (seriously, Mama’s Fish House is AMAZING), trying Snuba for the first time, and hiking Iao Valley. Our all day road trip to Hana will be covered in Part Two, which includes climbing down a bridge to get to a waterfall and ignoring safety warnings in order to see a stunning red sand beach!!
SO fun!!! I want to go to Hawaii now!
