We were all set to capture Kelli and Kevin’s wedding at the end of June this year in Chicago, but 2020 had other plans. And with their big celebration now scheduled for next summer, these two planned on throwing a small and intimate ceremony in Kelli’s parent’s backyard on their original wedding date with just their families and with no professional photographer. But Kelli’s mom had other plans!
Kelli’s mom contacted us to surprise these two, and we were beyond thrilled by the opportunity to capture this once-in-a-lifetime moment for Kelli and Kevin. Ed made his way to Gull Lake (just outside of Kalamazoo) on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon. Kevin was super surprised to see Ed as he walked through the door, and Kelli even teared up when she found out that we were capturing their ceremony! Our couples and their families are seriously the best.
From reading cards from each other before the ceremony and saying their vows in front of a small handful of loved ones to riding off on Kelli’s dad’s pontoon boat as husband and wife, this backyard microwedding was beyond perfect. We can’t wait for next June to celebrate with these two again at The Radisson Blu in Chicago!
Here are some of our favorites of Kelli and Kevin’s Kalamazoo Michigan Backyard Microwedding!
“Ed! Oh my god! We are obsessed! These are unbelievable! We cannot thank you enough for making the drive up to Michigan and capturing the day! Thank you so so much and we are looking forward to working with you guys next year too!!” -Kelli & Kevin
