Located in central Tokyo, the Tsukiji Fish Market is the biggest wholesale fish and seafood market in the world. We arrived early in the morning to see it in action. From the selection of fish to all the nooks and crannies found throughout, it was amazing. There were so many things happening at once! Not only did we have to constantly watch out for fast moving forklifts, we also had to make sure we didn’t step in puddles of blood, water, and other things. We can’t believe how lucky we are to have been able to experience to witness the fish market in action. It’s definitely something we will never forget!
We made our way to the Tokyo Skytree in the afternoon. It is the tallest structure in Japan, providing an amazing 360˚ view of Tokyo. And wow – what a view!! After we had some delicious ramen, we jumped on the subway and headed to the Shibaura Pier for a stunning view of the Rainbow Bridge over Tokyo Bay. It was cold and windy, and absolutely the perfect way to spend our last night in Tokyo before heading to Kyoto in the morning.
